Paula Bray, senior post-doctoral fellow with the Kids Neuroscience Centre Neuropathy Group, has been appointed Network Director of Allied Health for the Sydney Children's Hospital Network. The position involves strategic leadership of allied health professionals across the Network. The role involves researching and implementing best practice models of care and developing strategies to support allied health professionals through education and leadership. It also includes the development and implementation of policies and procedures to drive transformative organisational change.
Paula Bray is an occupational therapist and research fellow at the School of Health Sciences, University of Sydney based in Kids Research. Paula completed her PhD investigating quality of life in Duchenne muscular dystrophy in 2010 and has extensive clinical experience as an occupational therapist working with children with neuromuscular disorders. Paula is invested in improving clinical care for people with nerve and muscle disorders and improving health care delivery through implementing research into practice. She chairs Sydney Health Partners Platform 5: utilising digital health and informatics research to optimise models of care and care delivery. She has several publications in prestigious journals such as Brain, Quality of Life Research, Movement Disorders, Annals of Neurology, JAMA Neurology and Lancet Child & Adolescent Health. Her research interests include: development of best practice guidelines, development and optimisation of outcome measures for clinical trials and effective implementation of research into clinical practice.
